It is quite obvious that it is the financial stability of a nation that can define solidarity of the socio-economic sustenance and development. This can be one of the major factors due to which the Thailand Board of Investment continuously focuses on increasing opportunities to attract foreign investment.
The relationship between Japan and Thailand dates back to the 15th century. The relationship between the two nations on social, economic, political and trade fronts is harmonious since then. The resultant of such a long and cordial bilateral relationship led to the amalgamation of BOI Thailand and JETRO. The Thai-Japan collaboration on business fronts is the basis of this relation. To cradle this relationship, JETRO holds its office in Bangkok in 1959.
JETRO Bangkok in association with the Board of Investment of Thailand organizes promotional and awareness activities. They do so to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and Thailand. They also do so to improvise and implement new processes depending upon the need of the industries and global economic situations. Such a similar event was organized by the collaborated duo on February 17, 2021. It was to promote automation and the use of touchless technology in the industrial production process.
Agenda of JETRO Manufacturing Digital Online Seminar
The “JETRO Manufacturing Digital Online Seminar”, focuses on promoting of digitalization of industrial production processes pitching on –
- Implementation of “touch-less technology” in Manufacturing Processes to avoid COVID-19 infection
- Promote the use of IoT/ICT in Production Line Visualization
- Promote “Green Awareness” which focused on a paperless approach towards packaging design
- Emphasized on Remote Monitoring and Automation of Logistic and Warehouse Operations
- Overall focus on Digitalization to enhance Digital Technology focused around 5G businesses
The event, held from 10-11:45 hours of the day, attracted 350 Thai and Japanese investors. It includes brands like Fuji Xerox, Toyota Thailand, Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Hitachi were among the major participants of the event.
In addition to the online seminar, JETRO and BOI jointly conducted over 100 online business matching activities. It is held between 19 February and 5 March to link Thai and Japanese investors in the digital ecosystem. It also focuses to develop a website to implement BOI policies and Thai and Japanese companies.
