Intellectual property cases in Thailand can now soon be resolved from January 2021. The Department of Intellectual Property’s new e-dispute settlement services is developed with the Thai Arbitration Institute.
The online platform is blueprinted to assist cases such as copyright, patents, and trademark infringements. The system will let you file online and conduct settlement online sessions through chats and video conferences so as to achieve a faster agreement with a minimum confrontation between the parties at an affordable cost.
For your information, while settling a dispute through an online portal, the parties will need to agree to the confidential agreement, prohibiting the sharing of facts and evidence during the processor using that in the court filing.
Mr.Jurin Laksanawisit, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce said that the online settlement service will lessen the burden on both the parties from getting into legal challenges.
