In Conde Nast Traveller: the 33rd Readers’ Choice Awards for the year 2020 Thailand has ranked 7th amongst the top 20 countries across the globe. Also, other popular locations of Thailand scored well in the listing. Where Chiang Mai secured 2nd position (Top 10 Best Small Cities), Ko Phangan rated 3rd (Top 5 Best Islands in Asia). Of all, Italy, Sri Lanka and Portugal ranked the top 3 positions.
To this TAT Governor said that “We are proud to see Thailand on the list even in this challenging year when international travel is affected”. He also extended sincere gratitude to Conde Nast Traveller’s readers and travelers for their confidence in Thailand. Adding to that, he assured that the country will be more welcoming when international travel will start again.
The award, for the first time, represents the voters that made their choices when none was traveling. Many readers said that when the pandemic is over, they wish to read about the classics. Be it their personal favorites or the one that brings joy to others.
As you know already, Chiang Mai scored 2nd place in the top 10 best small cities, San Miguel de Allende, which is at the top.
