· Are you holding a visa and extending them within Thailand for no less than 3 years consecutively?
· Are you holding a work permit and extending them within Thailand for no less than 3 years consecutively
· Are you earning no less than 40,000 Baht per month for 3 years consecutively?
· How is your Thai language skill?
· Are you willing to renounce your current nationality? Though in the US, UK, and in some other countries dual citizenship is allowed. But in Thailand, it is regulated to have one nationality (minors are exception, where they have foreign father & Thai mother, by procedure, these minors are supposed to elect the nationality that they wish to hold and to renounce the other nationality when they reach the age of majority).
Once the application is submitted, the officer will give them a form that they agree to renounce their current nationality, where they will then need to process them at their embassy in Thailand. And when the applicant have pass the tests the officials will notify their embassy about the applicant being granted with Thai citizenship and will renounce his/her original nationality.
For your information, foreigner (married to a Thai national), he/she can directly pursue the Thai citizenship route without having to obtain the PR status.
