alcohol license in Thailand

An alcohol license, to allow your establishment sell liquor legally. Even if you have decided the name for your business and have a Thai partner, not having a liquor license would mean no business. Under Liquor Act B.E. 2493 it is a must to have a liquor license to set-up a bar or sell liquor in establishments, including restaurants, hotels, liquor stores, importers, wholesalers, pubs, and clubs.

To obtain that you must file an application with the District Office or the Local Excise Department with the below-mentioned documents;

  1. “Copy of company affidavit,
  2. Copy of lease agreement of business establishment and consent letter from the landlord,
  3. Copy of house registration of business establishment, and
  4. Map of liquor establishment for distribution,”

The validity of Alcohol License in Thailand

As the license is valid for a year, so it must be renewed annually.

Cautions

  1. You will be allowed to sell alcohol in specific place, time, and date that will be prescribed by the official;
  2. According to Alcohol Beverage Control Act, B.E. 2551, you are not allowed to sell alcohol near-religious areas, gas station, and schools.
