As Thailand Cabinet approves a roadmap to manage waste in 2018-2030 while limiting or ending usage of specific plastics, the country may be in need of more number of plastic waste management agencies.
Thailand is thus expected to be free from three types of plastic usage, including cap seals, oxo-degradable plastics, and microbeads plus from other types of single-use plastics by 2022. And for that, a roadmap has been decided, including plans to reduce while ultimately eliminating the three types of plastics presently in use.
Other than this, the roadmap also includes quitting using four different types of plastic in 2022, such as foam boxes, single-use plastic cups, and plastic straws.
The conference adopted resolutions to promote sustainable development, which includes cooperation in lessening marine plastic debris.
