If so, you will be excited to know about the10-year retirement visa that, if you qualify, can make your life so easy. What is this 10-year visa all about and how do you go about it?
Above all, you need to know whether you are eligible or not be:
- You must be over the age of 50;
- You must be from one of 14 countries — Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Finland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Canada;
- You must have at least 3 million baht in a Thai bank account, or have a provable overseas income of at least 100,000 baht per month;
- You must have health insurance cover which pays out at least 10,000 US dollars;
- You must not have any pending criminal convictions or charges;
For your information, this visa is valid for 5 years. Travelers having thus type of visa will have the permission to stay in Thailand for five years each time, total 10 years. And as for the documents are concerned, they are listed below;
- Your Passport;
- Visa application form completely filled out along with three passport-size photographs (2″x2″);
- Additional Application form;
- A copy of the bank statement and a letter of guarantee from the bank with the bank’s contact information, showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 3 million baht;
- A letter of verification stating that the applicant has no criminal record;
- A medical certificate showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535) certificate shall be valid for not more than three months;
- Visa processing Fee of $400CAD;
- In case of accompanying spouse, a marriage certificate must be provided;
- In case of accompanying legal child/adopted child (who are under 20 years old), a birth certificate/ adoption order must be provided;
