The Government has exempted tariff on some products of the Thai origin when imported into India from Thailand. This is a result of the Early Harvest Scheme under the Framework Agreement to establish free trade between Thailand and India. Some products have been listed below;
- Fresh mangosteens, mangoes,
- Fresh grapes,
- Apples,
- Durians,
- Fresh rambutans, longans, pomegranates,
- Durum wheat,
- Salmon,
- Sardines, sardinella, and brisling or sprats,
- Mackerel,
- Crab,
- Salt (including table salt and denatured salt) and pure sodium chloride, whether or not in aqueous solution or containing added anti-caking or free-flowing agents; Sea water,
- Chromium ores and concentrates,
- Aluminium oxide, other than artificial corundum,
- Aluminium hydroxide,
- Polyacetals,
- Epoxide resins,
- Polycarbonates,
- Polyamide,
- Polyurethanes,
- Rubies, emeralds and sapphires, unset and imported uncut,
- Alloy pig iron,
- Spiegeleisen,
- Threaded elbows, bends and sleeves,
- Helical springs,
- Table, floor, wall, window, ceiling or roof fans, with a self-contained electric motor of an output not exceeding 125 W,
- Weighing machine weights of all kinds; Parts of weighing machinery,
- Parts and accessories of machines of heading 8444 or of their auxiliary machinery,
- Spindles, spindle flyers, spinning rings, and ring travelers,
- Automatic teller machines and cash dispensers,
- Flywheels and pulleys, including pulley blocks,
- Line telephone sets with cordless handsets,
- Aerials or antennae of a kind used with apparatus for radio-telephony and radio-telegraphy,
- Printed circuits,
- Gearboxes,
On the other hand, Thailand too has exempted tariffs on some Indian goods. If you are about to start a trading business, taking note of these will be of good use.
