how Thailand is using big data

With the 2nd year of Thailand 4.0, the two-decade plan is finally coming close to its end as the groundwork is made ready for a transformation. The country launched its plan in 2015, implementing fiber-optic broadband in almost 75,000 villages. In spite of certain hindering, the plan could move towards its accomplishment.

It is believed that by the end of 2019, the high-speed broadband Internet will become accessible in all the villages, as mentioned by Mr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, the head of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. Also, the Thai government is keen on considering yet another dimension of Thailand 4.0 data as soon as the internet is accessible to all.

When being specific about the importance of data, the President of Thailand’s Digital Economy and Promotion Agency, said that it would benefit the moment for “strategic thinking” among the business owners into new business and innovations.

Almost 70% of the Firms are Expected to Use Big Data

There’s no denying of the fact that big data will play a bigger role in the private sector in Thailand in the next three years. The government’s first step is to initiate the plan to collect data from the 20 ministries into a proper centralized data management system. Similarly, each ministry will be handed over three tasks to fulfill, including distinguishing data sets, interpretation of the prime focus, and inspection of lists of the data sets.

Because these data sets will be shared with the public, the investors who are considering to start a new business can use the data to get possible solutions.

Big Data to be Used in Farming

With data analysis, the country will be able to decide on the crops to grow while improving the industry’s output. Also, this way it would let them know which crop would better their productivity.

Did you know that Thailand Big Data was the biggest thing at South-East Asia’s digital exhibition?
