Don’t worry, we have got you covered. If you are a foreigner or working on behalf of your foreigner friend who is looking forward to opening a bank account in Thailand, below mentioned are a list of some of the banks you can rely on;
- Bangkok Bank
- Kasikorn Bank
- UOB Bank
- CitiBank
- Siam Commercial Bank
- Bank of Ayudhya
- ICBC
- Bank of Thailand
- Krung Thai Bank
- Thanachart Bank
- Kiatnakin Bank
- TMB Bank
You can choose to open a savings account, current account, fixed-term account, or a foreign currency account in any of these banks. The best part about the savings account is that it let even a tourist to open an account. And for that, a 30-day arrival stamp would be enough. As for a current account, if you have a work permit that would be enough to go.
We understand that the need to open a bank account can be either personal or corporate. Below mentioned are the documents required for both;
For Corporate
- Passport,
- Photo identity or reference letter from your home embassy or lease agreement and utility bills,
- Work permit, if there (sometimes it is mandatory with a few banks like UOB),
- Non-immigrant B visa for business/work,
- O-A long-stay visa, or a 3-year non-immigrant visa for business,
- Proof of Thai residency,
- Proof of property ownership in Thailand,
- Copy of Company Registration,
For Personal
- Passport,
- Photo identity or reference letter from your home embassy or lease agreement and utility bills,
