new platform for Thai 4.0 programme

To accelerate Thailand’s 4.0 industrial programs different tools are being implemented. One of such is 3D design software. On this a French-based company, Solidworks will hold a conference at Bangkok, Thailand next month. Actually, the company is expanding in the Thai market through education and manufacturing sector in order to usher a new age of designing and creating products with the use of 3D tools on the cloud-based computing facilities.

Speaking at the Solidworks World 2019 conference in the US, the CEO of the Dassault Systemes Solidworks mentioned that the firm’s 3D experience platform enable collaborative designing, manufacturing, and simulating activities to facilitate the industrial renaissance.

The 3D platform is expected to be way better than the 2D as they make product designing, prototyping, and simulating faster and accurate. Significantly, they are cheaper than the 2D.

Solidworks’ tool intends to cover the complete work process, right from “concept to creation”.  Presently, the company has about 6 million users globally for designing and manufacturing, including 3.5 million users in 32,000 schools and universities as well as a worldwide network of around 1,600 Fab Lab locations.

This cloud-based platform lets people in different locations to collaborate on designing a flyover bridge on the screen with various simulations to find a solution to the city’s traffic jams while using real-time traffic and other related data.

Also, the CEO stated another example of a footwear company uses the data to design shoe soles for customization. To this, the vice president said that the convergence of the art and business, and technology has introduced new product opportunities, particularly those who are featuring mechatonics and connected hardware.

He added that such technology will facilitate growth of business start-ups, and established companies are no safer in their comfort zone because of constant challenges from the disruptive newcomers. With these technologies it is way easier for the small and medium companies to automate the design and manufacturing process, involving product conceptualization to designing, and procuring raw materials, and manufacturing to delivering.
