116 projects worth 106.79 billion baht have been approved for Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) development. Yours too can contribute here. The projects are to be developed on a 300,000 square meters in the areas including Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, and Chumphon during the 2019-22.
This 4-year plan is likely to cover four strategic plans with the primary focus to develop SEC as the gateway to South Asia while linking to the Eastern Economic Corridor. While the first plan includes 11 projects that worth 50.3 billion baht, including upgrading of Ranong deep-see port and airports.
On the other hand, the second plan calls for development of tourism, linking the Royal Coast tourism cluster, including Prachuap Khiri Khan, the Andaman Sea, Chumphon and Ranong, and Phetchaburi, covering 33 projects.
The cabinet has approved the Royal Coast project around Hua Hin, wherein there is a majestic residential retreat. Also, the government has planned for a high-end tourism campaign in the Western coastal provinces in order to boost income in that region.
Coming to the second plan, the Thai government is committed to upgrade the construction of a highway alongside the coast from Phetchaburi, Chumphon, Rayong, Samut Songkhram, and Prachupa Khiri Khan.
The third plan on the other hand aims at developing bio-based and processed agriculture products that cover 33 projects, like the development of a research hub for the aquatic animals, pilot plants for rubber innovation, and herbal center. Whereas, the fourth plan includes 30 projects blueprinted for natural resource preservation, development of infrastructure for telecommunication, and construction of a service center in Chumphon for the elderly.
For the sake of development, the cabinet has approved 5 urgent projects that worth 448.96 million baht in order to be allocated from the budget of the fiscal 2019.
