Well, the process is similar to others, just with this business you may need to acquire some extra licenses; for instance, obtaining Food or Alcohol license. However, there can be different ways of starting a food or beverage business in Thailand. It can be starting a restaurant or own a food truck.

No matter what business you choose to open, it should be a limited company. Additionally, 51% of the shares of the company must be with the foreigners and the rest with you. To incorporate a business, the first and foremost step is to find a suitable name. Just make sure that the name you decide doesn’t match with any. As soon as you get company’s name approval, you need to file a Memorandum of Association. However, the final step of incorporation includes convening a statutory meeting, where payment of 25% value of each share is must.

However, to register your business you will to have these following documents:
  1. Name of the designated company (please provide 3 names).
  2. Registered address (in Thailand) for your company (please provide a copy of the house registration).
  3. Company’s objective (please provide full detail of your business functions).
  4. Shareholders Information:
    1. Copy of passport of your 3 promoters/shareholder.
    2. Share allocation of each shareholder.
  5. Directorship Information:
    1. Name of the Authorized Director(s).
    2. Copy of passport for each Director.
    3. Signatory condition of the director(s).
  6. The number of foreigners (non-Thai) that you expected to have been working for this juristic entity.

Additionally, to start a food truck business, you will need to have a permanent address. Moreover, you should acquire food license and part of this will require you to have at least 1 person to be the holder of the Individual Sanitary License. Furthermore, you may need to apply for alcohol license and cigarette license if you wish to sell alcohol or cigarettes.
