The key to having a great time working with Thais is to understand their culture and etiquettes. Needless to say, you will have to abide by the rules and regulations of the country you are living in. So that’s apparent, you will have to do the same when you are in Thailand. Despite the fact that work in Thailand can be a strict atmosphere with rules and stiff penalties, Thais generally are friendly, particularly to foreigners. And the best thing about them is their smiling face. No matter how things are you will always be greeted with a smile. Thus the country is rightly known as the “Land of Smiles.”
If you wear a smile, you can expect to get it back. On the surface, it appears that Thais get along with each other at work more than the West. Not only do they help each other, share food, and try to avoid conflicts as much as possible. We all know how peace-loving people they are. They would do anything to avoid any sort of clash with their colleagues.
Also, Thais take criticisms head-on, but you have to careful when you say something as that should be a constructive criticism and not a joke. Importantly, do not lose your temper and yell at Thais. Why only Thais, this is such an indecent behavior with anyone.
Besides, they are extremely professional and you will be amazed to see how beautifully they balance their work and personal lives. If you do not work with them you will never be able to believe that work-life balance isn’t just an HR theory. They are knowledgeable and hardworking, which is why a lot of countries are considering to hire Thai employees.
However, if you want to work in Thailand, you will have to find a job first and then get a work permit.
