It can be granted to applicants who are 50 years and above and want to stay in Thailand up to 10 years even after retirement with a maximum stay of 5 years. Wondering what does that even mean? Basically, you will need to do two stays, 5 years each; like you stay for 5 years and then again extend it for next 5 years. Additionally, the applicants for this kind of visa must be nationals of the countries mentioned below;

Though O-X Long Stay Visa is a new retirement visa, it shares very similar features with the Non-Immigrant O-A visa, commonly termed as the ‘retirement visa’.
Other Requisites for the Application:
- Having permanent residence in Indonesia (with valid KITAS or KITAP);
- Having a bank account in Thailand with the minimum balance of 3,000,000 Thai Baht or 1,800,000 Thai Baht with the annual income of at least 1,200,000 Thai Baht. *** The money must remain in the account for at least 1 year after entering Thailand. After the period of 1 year, the minimum of 1,500,000 Thai Baht is required to remain in the account;
- Having the Thai health insurance.
Required documents:
- “Two sets of completed and signed visa application forms and photographs
- Passport with the remaining validity of at least 6 months
- Curriculum Vitae (2 copies)
- Certificate of Deposit issued by a bank in Thailand (one original and one copy)
- Bank Statement letter issued by a bank in Thailand showing no less than THB 3,000,000 Thai Baht or 1,800,000 Thai Baht with the proof of annual income of at least 1,200,000 Thai Baht. or equivalent in US Dollars (one original and one copy)
- Bank book (2 copies)
- Police Recordissued by the Police in the country of origin (one original and one copy)
- Police Record issued by the Indonesian National Police (one original and one copy)
- Medical Certificate(one original and one copy) issued by local competent authority certifying that the applicant has no prohibited diseases as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 (B.E. 2535) (the certificate must be issued no more than 3 months before the visa application)
- Two Copies of Temporary Resident Permit (KITAS) or Permanent Resident Permit (KITAP)
- Two copies of Thai Health Insurance
- Application fee (Cash only in Indonesian Rupiah – Non-refundable): IDR 5,600,000”
As for your dependents, they are also entitled to apply, provided they meet the requirements. If you are considering to apply for your spouse, then the marriage certificate in English is needed and for your child his/her birth certificate in English is needed plus your kid must be under 20 years. Also, make sure that both the marriage and birth certificate are legalized by relevant authorities.
