If you are a foreigner and wish to do business in Thailand, then you must consider obtaining a non-immigrant Thai Business Visa. However, to be able to apply for the business visa, it is important to confirm that you are not a threat to the government in Thailand. Also, if you are the applicant, then you must be present where the application will be lodged.
Well, while applying for a business visa in Thailand, there are certain points that you need to remember. They are mentioned below;
- The non-immigrant visa must be issued by the consulate in your (foreigner) home country. Typically, the visa allows a 90-day stay in Thailand for a single entry. Also, please note, this can be extended to a year’s non-immigrant visa when the work permit is processed.
- Remember that 1-year non-immigrant visa is given to the potential business owner not only to do business but also enter the country frequently.
- Similarly, the non-Immigrant B-A visa for all the approved businesses can be applied by your company. But then again granting such visa is possible under the Office of the Immigration Bureau, Bangkok. Once approved by them, they will be advising the Royal Thai Embassy via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for visa issuance. The visa holder will be allowed to be there at least for a year or so, right from the date entering into the Kingdom.

- Duly filled the application form
- Recent passport-sized photograph (4 x 6 cm)
- Proof of having sufficient finance
- Evidence showing correspondence with the business partners in Thailand
- Proof of financial status in case the applicant is self-employed
- Invitation letter from the trading partners
- Letter from your company stating your position, employment length with the company, your salary, and purpose of visits to the country
- Corporate documents including;
- Business registration and business license
- List of shareholders
- Company profile
- Details of the business operation
- Map indicating the location of the company
- Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por
Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year - Value-added tax registration (Por Por 20)
- Copies of company’s documents signed by the Board of Directors with the company’s seal
As for the process, it is quite simple. You will have to submit the necessary documents to the Thai embassy and pay the consular fees, which could be either by credit, cheque, and cash. To review and process the visa, it usually takes 5 to 10 business days.
